What's the best thing about Beaver Scouts? Activities, trips and making friends are all part of what makes it so much fun for girls and boys. As well as earning activity badges, many Beaver Scouts get to go on camps and sleepovers, often for the first time. Beaver Scouts like:

  • Being creative – making things
  • Playing games
  • Going on visits and investigating nature
  • Learning about themselves
  • Getting to know other people
  • Discovering the worlds of science, nature and technology
  • Exploring the natural and manmade world
  • Caring – responding to the needs of others, the local and international community

Like all of the sections within Scouting the Beavers have some exciting badges to achieve….

These are activity badges and there are 22 of them to gain. Beavers can work towards a cooking badge, sports, hobbies, space and even an international activity badge.

These are the staged badges, these can be started in the Beaver section and worked on right through to the Explorer section. They increase in difficulty as your young person works through the sections

These are the challenge badges, of which there are six to be gained.

Once all six have been awarded then a Beaver scout can get the highest award, the Chief Scouts Bronze Award. All Beavers who gain this badge will be invited to a special awards ceremony followed by a fun activity session at Blackwell Court Scout centre.

The Beaver section is open to 6-8 year olds but due to popularity we sometimes have to put a waiting list in place. You can register your interest for a space by using the enquiry form. Fill this in and the leader team will be in touch to confirm all of the details.
